Build connections worth belonging to.
Musubi means connection. It's the community side of my work in Japan — bringing people together around Japanese culture. Introducing people to local communities, and the people working to keep both alive.
Why Musubi
Culture stays alive because people participate in it, learn from it, contribute to it, and eventually help carry it forward. Musubi is where I bring together the cultural projects, community building, and regional revitalization work I'm involved with in Japan — and create bridges for other people to get involved too.
What we're building
Community
A place for Japanese and international people to meet around shared interests, make friends, exchange ideas, and build things together.
Culture
Opportunities to learn about and participate in Japanese cultural traditions through the people and communities actually keeping them alive.
Regional Revitalization
Projects that connect people with communities outside Japan's major cities and support the people working to preserve, restore, and reimagine what comes next.
Fieldwork
Events, workshops, trips, conversations, and experiments that get people out of the feed and into the places, practices, and communities we're talking about.
